Donald Mairs

Donald B. Mairs earned his Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University in 1988. Soon thereafter, Mr. Mairs accepted a position with the Office of the Public Defender in Jacksonville, where over the next six years, he handled a wide variety of criminal law matters, gained extensive trial experience, and became Division Chief of a felony division in Circuit Court. Mr. Mairs left the Office of the Public Defender to work in private practice with Henry M. Coxe, III, former President of The Florida Bar. Mr. Mairs and Mr. Coxe then joined the law firm of Bedell, Dittmar, DeVault, Pillans, and Coxe, P.A. Still specializing in criminal law, Mr. Mairs became a partner while at The Bedell Firm. Based on a desire to start his own law practice, Mr. Mairs founded The Mairs Law Firm in 2007. In 2018, Mr. Mairs partnered with Glenn Warren and Aaron Metcalf to create the firm of Warren, Metcalf & Mairs, PLLC. Mr. Mairs has enjoyed great success, as he has been given the opportunity to represent numerous clients in both federal and state court.

One of Mr. Mairs most notable achievements occurred in 1996, when he became a Board Certified Criminal Trial Lawyer. Under the Florida Bar rules, only board certified attorneys are allowed to identify themselves as “Florida Bar Board Certified,” as a “Specialist,” or as an “Expert” in a specific field of law. Mr. Mairs has maintained this certification for the past 22 years.

Mr. Mairs is married with four children. When not practicing law, he enjoys spending time on his boat, affectionately named the “Mud Duck.”
